Washington, D.C. has a diverse range of meeting venues to choose from.
In July 1790, Washington, D.C. officially became the capital of the United States of America, and as the nation’s capital, this city is full of history (and of course government)! The city is home to all three branches of the federal government as well as many museums, monuments, and memorials. DC attracted 18 million visitors in 2011, many of whom were likely drawn to such popular destinations as The White House, Capitol Hill, The Washington Monument, and The Lincoln Memorial. Make the politically correct decision, and book your next meeting or event in the nation’s capital city!
The DC area’s three major airports – Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) – serve a combined total of 64 million passengers annually. With hundreds of nonstop domestic flights offered at each airport, meeting attendees should have no trouble flying into the city. DC also is home to the nation’s second-largest heavy rail line, the Washington Metro. The Metro is made up of five lines, 106 miles of track, and 86 stations, including one at the Walter E Washington Convention Center.
